About Rachel Beam (she/her)Specialties: depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, children ages 10+, teens, young adults, adults
Summary: Rachel understands that a person exists as a part of many systems (family, school, partner/marriage, career, volunteer) rather than solely a stand-alone entity. She is able to assist individuals in exploring how their changes in thinking and behavior affect all of the systems in which they live. By designing interventions in a strengths-based manner (which draws on what the individual naturally does well and enjoys doing in his/her/their life), clients are better able to make cognitive and behavioral changes that will result in lasting change in their lives. Rachel believes that this approach to treatment, drawing on an individual’s strengths and preferences while anticipating effects of change, is one of the most effective ways to exact lasting change.
